Experiencing spring - our students get stuck into campus activities in the sunshine
6 May 2022

As spring gathers pace – and students return to campus for the final term of the year – this week has seen a range of activity on the Harper Adams campus.
From building biodiversity data first thing in the morning:
Looking forward to enjoy the morning and record some bird biodiversity data tomorrow with the student Conservation Society. @HarperAdamsUni @Team_eBird @adams_data #biodiversity All welcome. pic.twitter.com/79x229sAQg

to Zoology students discovering mammal populations in the evening:
Great effort this evening by our first year #Zoology students @DrJohnReade sampling small mammal meta populations in hedgerows and a poplar plantation @HarperAdamsUni @CIEEMnet @Mammal_Society #Ecology #Conservation pic.twitter.com/r7RzO7uDBL

and bat surveying at night.
Back out again 20 000 steps and counting, our @HarperAdamsUni Zoology students are hardcore! Bat surveying and setting mammal traps. ?? ?? @DrJohnReade #pipestrelle #bats pic.twitter.com/sQszJJWYP8

The weather helped – with blue sky over the Shropshire hills for our Agriculture students:
Fascinating visit in the sunshine beneath the Shropshire hills for BSc Ag second years @HarperAdamsUni to round off their Grass & Forage production module. Thanks for hosting us and sharing your knowledge and a few new ideas for them to think about as always @clovermad pic.twitter.com/XWhk7fgCwD

And with the sunshine drawing out insects (and our students!) for some entomogical experiences:
I had a wonderful morning out field sampling in the sunshine with 2nd year @HarperAdamsUni students on my 'Introduction to #entomology' module.

Most of the course is over winter so it's great to get out when the weather is on our side + lots of great #insects around today. pic.twitter.com/LTgbun2HXd
If you’re interested in experiencing what our campus has to offer, why not look at this year’s Harper Adams Experience weekend?
Running on Sunday July 3 and Monday July 3, this two-day residential event for 16-to-18-year-olds is designed to help you decide if Harper Adams is right for you .
